I think you folks at Mass Eye and Ear have your priorities maybe a little bit backwards. The Foxboro campus and seeing Dr. McCarthy was a night and day experience compared to being in Boston. Boston, you need a lot of work. Foxboro was a breath of fresh air.

Dr McCarthy took the time to listen to me and also explain everything fully. I had a much better understanding of my issues than when I walked through the door. It was so nice to not be rushed like I usually am at my appointments with other providers.

Dr. Brendan McCarthy is an excellent ophthalmologist. He referred me to a great specialist for my laser surgery. He also referred me to another good one for my cataract surgery. I really appreciate him. However, the problem I had was that one year ago he saw me after the laser surgery I had in Orlando and told me that the surgery was well done. He asked me to come back to see him in one year in Foxboro for the cataract surgery. When I went to see him last Monday on September 22, he asked me again if I had the laser surgery and if I don't live in Orlando anymore. This part of the conversation made me feel that when they received information from me they did not make any change on their computer. It's dangerous. Also, I was surprised to hear that he left Boston two years ago and since then he did not do cataract surgery anymore. I think that, in 2024 the last time he saw me, instead of giving me an appointment to see him for this year in Foxboro, he could just refer me to the specialist in cataract surgery, who probably could see me this year 2025. Now, I have to wait for 6 months to see that specialist. Despite of all these problems, I will still refer my friends and family members to Dr. Brendan McCarthy. My only advice to him is to make sure that he has a team member who is responsible of changing patients information immediately after each visit.

I was disappointed this doctor is no longer doing cataract surgery. We had spoken in the past about my cataracts, and I was expecting he would be the one to remove my cataracts. Now that is not happening. I was confused by him telling me to use the doctor I have used for my cornea abrasion for the cataracts.
