Dr. McCarthy has been my doctor for, I would guess, more than 10 years. His knowledge is superlative and his conduct is superlative.

Dr. McCarthy (and his staff) listened carefully, treated me with kindness and were very patient. He did an in-office procedure which is already helping and I finally have hope that things are going in the right direction. I am very grateful to Dr. McCarthy.

Doctor is medically very skilled. He demonstrates the ability to do exams, evaluate test results, make a diagnosis and devise a treatment plan that he can then explain in a way that is comprehensible to the patient. He gives practical advice on day to day accommodations for any particular issue that is very, very rare in most clinicians.

The visit was great, my only comment is related to the high speed delivery of a tremendous amount of information the doctor gave me, about a broad range of options that i didn't ask about, and i'm not sure it was relevant. I asked him to slow it down and provide the specific action items, but I'm still not really clear....It was a fairly high pressure appt. because he was helping out with Dr. [redacted]'s patients, but it came across as frantic and disorganized.

Dr. McCarthy is easily one of the best if not the absolute best provider that I've encountered at MGh. An incredible physician.

Talk to McCarthy and the other intern who typed on the computer can't remember his name. They were very, very concise, informative, empathetic, and kind referred me to another colleague in Easton who sounds very experienced to help see what my needs will steer towards for my care. Hopefully I won't need cataract surgery, but if I do, it'll also help my narrowing retina, which is good to know kill two birds with one stone. It was an excellent appointment very much enjoyed doctors rapport and efficiency good man.

Dr. McCarthy is a very helpful and knowledgeable ophthalmologist and took care of my problem when I had it a year ago and went to follow up quite efficiently and quickly.

He was very thorough, identified my issue, was aware of how far I had traveled for this visit and resolved my issue at that appointment. Plus, his assistant had a gadget that took photos of my eye using my phone, proving the need for the procedure.

He gave instructions on self care, including a handout. I have not received such important and useful insight and instruction previously. I was impressed and grateful. He reinforced the need for daily self care with the handout which has changed my habits, at least so far. The rest is up to me to follow through. It will take practice and self retraining on my part.

I feel very satisfied with this visit, the provider show a lot of knowledge and he give me a great advises for my eye care and allergies treatment.

Boston, you need a lot of work. Foxboro was a breath of fresh air.

Dr. Brendan McCarthy is an excellent ophthalmologist. He referred me to a great specialist for my laser surgery. He also referred me to another good one for my cataract surgery. I really appreciate him. However, the problem I had was that one year ago he saw me after the laser surgery I had in Orlando and told me that the surgery was well done. He asked me to come back to see him in one year in Foxboro for the cataract surgery. When I went to see him last Monday on September 22, he asked me again if I had the laser surgery and if I don't live in Orlando anymore. This part of the conversation made me feel that when they received information from me they did not make any change on their computer. It's dangerous. Also, I was surprised to hear that he left Boston two years ago and since then he did not do cataract surgery anymore. I think that, in 2024 the last time he saw me, instead of giving me an appointment to see him for this year in Foxboro, he could just refer me to the specialist in cataract surgery, who probably could see me this year 2025. Now, I have to wait for 6 months to see that specialist. Despite of all these problems, I will still refer my friends and family members to Dr. Brendan McCarthy. My only advice to him is to make sure that he has a team member who is responsible of changing patients information immediately after each visit.
