Ashwini Nadkarni MD is an Assistant Professor at Harvard Medical School, Associate Medical Director of Brigham Psychiatric Specialties and Vice Chair for Faculty Enrichment in the Department of Psychiatry. She is board certified in Psychiatry and in her clinical practice, incorporates a trauma-informed, patient-centered approach, prioritizing compassion and collaboration.
Dr. Nadkarni’s research interests include clinical innovations to address healthcare inequities in mental health and psychiatric disorders in patients with gastroenterological disorders. Dr. Nadkarni's research also investigates how to improve quality of patient care through interventions for healthcare worker burnout, with a focus on enhancing diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in the workplace.
Dr. Nadkarni has authored multiple book chapters and peer-reviewed articles and has also been featured as an expert commentator in the documentary film “The Observed Life,” as well as the New York Times, Time Magazine, Forbes, the Wallstreet Journal, and the Washington Post. Locally, she is a board member for Volunteers of America, Massachusetts and nationally, a medical advisory board member for Forbes Health, Self Magazine, and US News and World Report.
