I needed a Rheumatologist when I arrived here. I heard there was Rheumatologist at Portsmouth Regional Hospital. I met Dr. Ippolito. He was exactly what I was looking for. He understood everything about my lupus and rheumatoid arthritis! I've been with him for 5 years. He takes good care of me.

He did mention what the x-rays revealed. He told me options to reduce the inflammation, that it was an incurable condition and said if I wanted pt to strengthen the knees that is available. He did not offer any solution for my sore left heel that I spoke of.

This was my third appointment with Dr. Ippolito. It takes me a while to feel comfortable with any new MD; I'm not the kind of person that just blindly trusts medical professionals. I'm deeply confident in Dr. Ippolito. I'm sure a lot of people feel their health is complicated, and I'm one of them. My diagnosis isn't straightforward and Dr. Ippolito is definitely trying to figure it out. He's willing to question and discuss my symptoms, and supported my decision to learn more about things before making big changes. That, to me, is the pinnacle of good medical care. He's able to step back and think (!) about my symptoms, and include me in the questioning. We're not necessarily following a predetermined course of action. Dr. Ippolito sees me as an individual, and respects my decisions. He is absolutely fantastic and I couldn't be more thankful to have found him
