About Amar Dhand

Dr. Amar Dhand is an Associate Professor of Neurology at Harvard Medical School and an attending neurologist at Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Mass General Brigham. He specializes in hospital neurology and stroke and cares for patients with acute and complex neurological conditions. Dr. Dhand received his medical degree from Harvard Medical School and completed his internal medicine internship, neurology residency, and fellowship in neurohospitalist medicine at the University of California, San Francisco. He also earned a DPhil from the University of Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar. Dr. Dhand has a special interest in understanding how patients’ social networks and social environments influence neurological health. His research combines network science, wearable technologies, and digital health tools to improve the detection, treatment, and outcomes of neurological illness.
