I had a spinal epidural and it was much different from my previous experience. The doctor worked slowly and gently and explained what he was doing. I felt fine when I left. All different from my previous injections. I also have had positive response. My last 3 walks were without sciatic pain. I know this might not be long lasting but it is likely diagnostic .

This was my first visit with this provider, so I have a limited experience base on which to evaluate.

Dr. Alec Meleger is one of the nicest and most knowledgeable doctors I have ever gone to ! He has a great personality and I liked him immediately after meeting him ! I felt very comfortable and at ease with Dr. Meleger right away ! I know he will take good care of all my Spine Care needs !

I am very happy to be Dr. Meleger's patient and have recommended him to dozens of future patients. I originally called about five months ago and the receptionist first offered me an appointment for the following day. When wshe looked me up she said that I ama NEW patient because last saw him two years and a week ago.I STILL FOLLOW ALL HIS ADVICE AND AM HIS PATIENT. I asked if I could have a cancellation, and not wait 3 1/2 months to see him. I did not get one. I waited all those months and his address was on my GPS, but took me elsewhere when I called from opposite a cemetery. I pulled into a driveway, called his office, and was given a simple direction to get to him. As I pulled out of the driveway a woman got out of her car that was parked along the curb a woman came to my car and asked if I was lost. I told her I was and she offered to lead me to his office. We drove and drove again. We passed 55 and 99 Wells aVe. and kept driving never seeing 159 . We did that three times and I called the doctor. I NEVER expected to see a sign that MGH, and was ready to go back home after at least three hours. Someon else asked me if I am lost. It evidently happens to many people. He took me to the correct buiolding and a custodian escorted me to check-in.There were four windows and no one was at any. As I turned to leave I saw movement and a groggy lady in the closest window looked up and Itold her I had an appointment with Dr. MelegerShe said I am not on the list and he canot see another patient. I was so exhaustd that Isuggested a later date and would appreciate a cancellation when it comes available. No one ever called so Ikept the appointment for three weeks later. When I finally got to Dr. Meleger he was the same sweet and efficient physician., and was very apologetic. There has been a big change in his staff which is evidently out of his control.

I have a mystery spine ailment and have been to the spine clinic before without any real findings to explain my condition. The Dr. absolutely listened, and frankly - that is the most important need when it comes to a condition that no one has been able to explain. I have tests and follow up in October so no follow-up per se. I am a huge fan of the Newton Wellesley Hospital/MGH network. The care is very good and I hope we get to the bottom of my back issues this time around. thank you.

This was my first time meeting Dr. Meleger and I found him to be very professional, knowledgeable, and showed genuine concern for my well-being. I appreciated that he had reviewed my medical records as they pertain to previous visits with other back doctors and that he requested that I get an MRI so that he could compare the results to previous x-rays. Dr. Meleger was friendly, a good listener and explained the prognosis of my back and what our plan should be. I felt very comfortable with his explanations and he answered all my questions.

This doctor was referred to me by my son who had seen him previously and had a lot of good things to say about him. So I followed up with him and found him to be very easy to talk to, understanding of my problem. This was a specialist, not a primary, where he treated the whole of me, not just the problem. And he has referred me to scans and things that I am following up with and it's exactly what I wanted and gave me good advice about what I should do to follow up if I get a positive scan and it indicates I do need follow up treatment.

Dr. Meleger is the most skillful medical doctor that I have experienced in a very long time. Most important to me he was comprehensive in his evaluation and his interpersonal skills were beyond belief as well. I feel most fortunate to have had his help at the time.

Procedure went as expected

My visit with Dr. Meleger is a follow-up visit every 6 months. To review how I am doing with my neck pain and renew my script for P/T. We discuss how I am working to control my inflammation through diet and exercise. Dr. Meleger is a good listener and very knowledgeable when it comes to suggesting how to control my neck pain conditions.

The entire experience was as good as it gets.

The "best possible provider" would have known what was wrong with me and how to treat it. This provider did not know, but no other doctor has figured it out either. This provider at least said that he didn't know.
