Dr. Edward E. Whang is an associate surgeon at Brigham and Women’s Hospital (BWH) and an associate professor of surgery at Harvard Medical School. He received his medical degree from the University of Chicago and completed surgical residency training at the University of California, Los Angeles, Center for Health Sciences.
Dr. Whang is board certified in general surgery and has clinical interests in biliary tract disease, cancer surgery, gastric cancer, gastrointestinal disease and surgery, and pancreatic disease and surgery. His research focuses on pancreatic adenocarcinoma and intestinal regeneration. He serves as the surgical lead for the Center for Perioperative Research at BWH.
