She went above and beyond to get me seen by a surgeon while I was in Boston (I live in Maine), so thet I wouldn't have to travel more.

Informative annual follow up as to my progress with weight loss; any concerns I might have; review of medications, life style, and exercise routines; and the importance of family encouragement with staying with the program. Overall, Dr. Apovian provided me with positive feedback, and future appointments.

Dr Apovian did not really make an effort to understand my situation, but she was VERY QUICK to recommend surgery none the less. She also spent some time explaining how she pioneered this kind of treatment. But she hadn't reviewed the notes that my office had sent her, and didn't know basic things about my medical history like my diagnosis of [redacted]. She also prescribed an injectable without discussing the mechanics of it in any way. [redacted]

Dr Caroline Apovian is brilliant. The best doctor I've seen. Extremely knowledgeable and up to date and most importantly so caring. Since my first visit, she was available to listen carefully and provided me many options and guidance. I am very happy with the results achieved that have exceeded my expectations. I can't thank her enough. I really have no words to express my gratitude.

Although this was a virtual appointment, I felt the provider did not look at me. She was looking somewhere to the bottom left of the screen. She said that patients usually don't see her first, before a dietician, but she was who I was scheduled with. I had no idea of the order. I felt she had an attitude, had no "bedside" manner and was unrealistic in her expectations. At one point, she made me feel stupid for saying something. [redacted]

This provider is knowledgeable, but is very rude and has no bedside manner. I know that doctors are just people too, so I don't expect perfection, but I expect kindness and consideration. During most of the visit I felt like she was talking down to me and she was talking very loudly, as if she was talking at me instead of to me. I have a history of disordered eating and my weight is a tough subject for me to talk about, as I'm sure it is for a lot of people, and it was very hard for me to have a conversation with her. [redacted] I do acknowledge that I am sensitive about this topic, and this physician is probably like this with all of her patients so I'm trying not to take it personally. She clearly is very smart and knowledgeable and does want to help her patients. I know she has written many books and has done tons of research. I'm sure a lot of patients appreciate her very direct approach. I appreciate directness too, but most of the conversation I felt like she was upset with me. I understand she wants to create a "safe" household for me in terms of the foods that are in it, but my goal is to not be so triggered by these foods.

I'm sure this provider is very good at what she does. But both times I've seen her. She seems rushed and does not listen. Well to what I have to say or take the time to listen to what I have to say. I felt so rushed that I had no time to ask any of the questions that I wanted to, or even given the opportunity to think for a moment Given the information that was provided.
